I don't know, a lot of the people out there are exhibiting signs of serious mental illness. And really, the drugs that are out there actually make you almost immediately start exhibiting these signs. You can tell when a new batch of meth just got "released" onto the scene. All up and down the avenue the people will start doing that meth dance. This is all orchestrated by the gangs. They get the unhoused to go steal shit to pay for the drugs. It's not happening in a vacuum as a direct result of inequity. It's happening on purpose by some very bad people who want it to happen, most of them real assholes in really violent criminal gangs. I knew those people. They weren't going to be changed by more equitable economic or social policies. The die has been cast, they are committed to that life, and damn good at spreading this mayhem. I truly believe the criminal justice system needs to be made more robust to respond to it, but yes, it needs to be accountable. But this is just my opinion and impression. I do know this, continuing the status quo in these blue cities is a really bad idea.
