I strongly advise against curation. You guys have no idea the emotional toll that your curation system takes on your supposedly beloved writers. A year and a half ago every story I wrote was curated. I guess I was on the automatic curation list, somehow. Then suddenly, the curation stopped. After curating 50 or so of my stories, since then Medium has curated nary a one. Of course, I couldn't get an answer as to why. I've been terribly deflated and depressed about it. While I was being "supported" by Medium, I dedicated all my time to editing pubs here, writing tutorials on how to write better, helping other Medium writers. But after you get the rug pulled out from under you like that, it's hard to feel enthusiastic about that kind of activity. To this day I wonder, why did they stop loving me? There have to be other ways for the cream to rise to the top other than this random and frankly hurtful obscure system of "being picked." You supposedly are big advocates for mental health--for everyone except writers I guess, because a sure way to create mental basket cases is your arbitrary, secret and poisonous process of curation.
