What is Consciousness?
Scientists find the answer at last!
Dawid Potgeiser, a neurophysicist who runs a Temple University project investigating the phenomenon of consciousness, announced a major breakthrough in the research that at last answers some of the age-old questions: what is self-awareness, where does it come from, and what are we supposed to do with it?
Turns out we were looking in the wrong place this whole time, according to the latest findings. “We had been searching for consciousness as if it were something that we actually had,” explained Potgeiser. “Instead, we chose to look for it as something we definitely lack. And suddenly — there it was — as plain as the nose on our face!”
Potgeiser and his team were able with super-advanced instrumentation and cynicism to identify five key features that would emerge if we actually had consciousness, which should give all of us hope that one day human beings will be able to achieve it.
1. When we have consciousness, we won’t be dicks any more.
Potgeiser says, “Human beings are assholes. But when we finally become self-aware we will improve somewhat. We won’t be total dicks. And that’s something to hope for.” Which implies, if you are sitting around thinking to yourself what a dick somebody is, you are probably…
